How the 50KB JPG compressor works

Your JPG is re-encoded at a series of trial quality levels in your browser, each output is measured in bytes, and a binary search settles on the highest quality whose file size is still at or under 50KB. Some photos are so detailed that even the lowest JPEG quality at full resolution overshoots 50KB. When that happens the tool reduces the dimensions in 25% steps and searches again, reporting the final pixel size alongside the quality so you know exactly what changed. PNG and WebP files are accepted too; they are re-encoded as JPG with any transparency flattened onto white.
